BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- As voters for the Permatang Pauh by-election anxiously await polling Tuesday, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is confident that the Barisan Nasional (BN) will win as its election machinery had worked relentlessly over the last ten days.
"After nearly two weeks of hard work and prayers, the situation is tilting towards BN," the Deputy Prime Minister said at a briefing at the BN's Kampung Kolam operations room here Monday.
The Permatang Pauh by-election is a three-cornered fight between the BN's Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah of BN, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Hanafi Mamat of Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim).
Najib said although political observers had initially forecast a slim chance for the BN, hard work had changed all that and that the coalition could emerge victorious.
